In May, weekday, I have to get to Stansted from NW before 1230.
Virgin fares to/via Lon are all full fare until after peak.
Do they ever put advance fares on for these morning trains, or should I resign myself to splitting and matching?

Where are you travelling from in the North West?

If you can get a train to Birmingham New Street or to Nuneaton, you can change there for an XC service that goes directly to Stansted Airport, and you won't then have to travel via Euston.

Journey time will be a little longer, but shouldn't cost anywhere near as much, and you should be at the Airport before 1230.

Thanks for suggestion.
Had a look at that already - again can't use off-peak to get me there before 1245.
It's a possibilty, but I'm also looking at Lon Mid to MK, then MK-Stansted off-peak with Network railcard.

0735 from Manchester Piccadilly to Nuneaton (arr 0844), change for the 0851 Nuneaton to Stansted Airport (arr 1145) should cost £65.50 for an Anytime Single, route Ely.
