Paying excess on MKC to EUS travelcard

I have a ANYTIME DAY TC from MKC to EUS (£43.90) for tomorrow.

I have since realised that, since I live near to Woburn Sands, it would be preferable walk to and start my journey there. The ANYTIME DAY TC from WOB to EUS via BLY is £51.40.

Two questions:

1. Can I buy an ANYTIME DAY R from WOB to BLY (£5.10), and then use my MKC to EUS ticket to complete my journey to London? This would be my cheapest option.

2. If not, can I excess the MKC to EUS ticket and pay the difference to use it from WOB? Would the gripper on the WOB train be able to handle this question?

First one is perfectly fine. Second one I don't think is possible, unless you are permitted to doubleback via MKC on a through ticket from Woburn Sands.

That's ok even though I'm starting my second journey from BLY and not from MKC where I'm booked to start from?

You're welcome.

You can start/finish short on all Anytime tickets. There is no problem.
