BBC News said:
Football legend Paul Gascoigne has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a train from York to Durham.

The former England midfielder was arrested at Durham station on 20 August.

British Transport Police said the 51-year-old has now been charged with one count of sexual assault by touching and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on 11 December.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said Mr Gascoigne, of Leicester, was "charged via postal requisition with one count of sexual assault by touching, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003".

"The charge relates to an incident on board a train on 20 August this year," she added.

I some how think this case will be more straight forward than the one involving Gazza's old fishing friend.

such a shame the way he's fallen from grace but if this is proven he will have reached a new low

Gazza is, and always has been, a classless waster.

Like everyone in this position, if proven I hope they throw the book at him...
I agree. But I also hope that once the book has been thrown he is offered the help he clearly needs. The criminal justice system has a rehabilitation role, though that role is easy to cut when times are tough. There also is a limit to how many second chances any person can get.

I hope it's more than a case of he said-she said... Only when the evidence is fully out can comment be made.

I once saw Gaza on a southbound train into Kings Cross - he was absolutely out of it and got involved in some sort of fracas on arrival at Kings Cross which was in the papers the following day.

I will highlight the importance of the presumption of innocence here, simply being charged doesn't imply likely guilt.

In what way did Freddie Mercury waste his talent?

Just look at people with illnesses rather than a narrow mind.Freddie Mercury. Such a waste. Imagine throwing all that talent away by being a gay.
