Both ways I've been bowled by having a stopper in front of a semi-fast service. Is this the normal way of operating on this line or is there something occurring today that my worse-than rudimentary French hasn't picked up on on signage/announcements?

The TER PACA website mentions pertubations between St Raphael and Toulon in both directions due to a fire at Les Arcs and somekind of incident at Carnoules. This might explain it. Pertubations should drag into tomorrow.
