Long time lurker, but finally thought of something worth asking.
On my way from Temple Meads to Cardiff this evening, I noticed that the height of the two lines between Patchway and Pilning are very different. To Bristol is much lower than From Bristol, even affecting the tunnel between the two. Is there a reason for this? Or was it just to save having to dig one big cutting for both lines?
