Vernon,

I'm going for FTPE start date Jan. Spoke to manning. People are starting to take the P"$£ apparantly and they are adamant that guys will be held to their 6 months notice period from now, excepting robust circumstances.

TBH....given the way that they have treated guys recently, I am surprised that they are even contemplating holding guys to the 6 (or even 12 month notice periods).

Don't worry, I'll walk if I want to and if succesful next week !

Which branch are you with, if you don't mind me asking?

I applied for edinburgh initially, but during interview they asked if Motherwell would be more suitable for me, due to living this way. I said edinburgh wouldnt be a problem but any other station is fine also. The interviewer said Motherwell is close by isnt it? Which to be honest is 15 minutes away for me and is perfect.

I think the training is initially glasgow where the interviews take place for the first parts and then who knows..

Thanks Railman, look forward to meeting you, all going well.

How did you find the final interview and reactions test?

I found the reaction test not too bad -but i am used to playing games on the PS3 and the Wii - that apparently helps a lot.

The final interview on the other hand i found much harder -- the questioning is so intense! I was constantly worried about saying something stupid. Had to really concentrate in just answering the questions with babbling on too much!!

Glad its all over, but now i guess the hard work REALLY begins!
