Passed but failed

Hi guys,
I went for an interview with south western and failed the VSE (I think) which was the last exam. I was told even though I’ve not got through to the next stage, I did actually pass the driver assessment as the vse is an extra that southern do, but not actually needed.
Can anyone tell me does this stand me in good stead for other jobs?
Will I get an email or certificate that I’ve passed?
Is it valid for 5 years?
Is there a way I can contact someone to see if it’s actually on the list?
Does it have a formal name or is it just a “driver assessment”?

The pass goes on to a centralised type system where all over companies can view a person's pass/fail.

I can't comment on the vse bit as I'm not sure, but if they said you passed then I'd go with that. I'm sure someone can help further on this point

I did the tests with GTR and fore some reason had a mare on the DFFT. I’d passed all others (they were marked at the end of day due to covid). Do I’d passed to national standard just not enhanced.

I applied to a FOC as they require a standard pass, I start next Monday.

Like he says, you've passed to national standard but not the one enhanced test. Still counts as a pass to all companies that only require national standard. There's a thread on here with the toc/foc's and what type of pass is required.

Yes. It appears you have passed the "psychometrics"

Don't know but I haven't heard of that happening.

No. Each TOC has their own limitations and the "5yr" limit is a misunderstanding of what it actually means.

I think you can contact the OPC for your passes for each test.

Generally known as the "Psychometrics" but Driver Assessments will do just fine. There is a standard list of assessments that you need to pass. Each TOC has an additional pass rate known as "enhanced" and each TOC can also administer additional tests (such as the VSE)

There is a list. Try the search function on the forum and it may come up. Alternatively you can try an external source; such as google.

The VSE (Visual Search Exercise) is only used by TOCs/FOCs who test to enhanced standard (or at least it used to be?). You mentioned South Western, but then say Southern? I’m assuming it was actually southern, as GTR use enhanced testing whereas SWR don’t?

The VSE is usually done at home, and is the first (one one of the first) tests you do, usually accompanied by a SJT (Situational Judgment Test). There have been people say these do form part of the “two strikes” rule, but I was always skeptics as they’re done at home so Technically anyone could do them on your behalf (psychometric assessments are done under supervision). It seems this has since been confirmed.

I'm just wondering where does this leave me now? Do I pay and go private or just keep applying and then only have to sit stage 2 and maybe resit group bourdon if I want enhanced standard?

Not sure how to delete the other post lol. But this is a great question, I find myself in the same position as yourself everything passed at enhanced but tea-occ was standard would love to know if anybody could shed some light on this? Many thanks

Usually if all your other tests are enhanced and you've only one National.

If you applied to another TOC/FOC then you'll only have to pass the National one (if the TOC/FOC looks for enhanced, if they only do National you're fine)

You could go private and do that one test yourself but for the money I'd just wait and apply for another and just do that one test

I do think many overthink this. In reality you apply for a job and that company will advise you if you’ve passed THEIR criteria or if you need to sit an assessment to get to their pass mark.

If I rightly recall, that one test would count as your second and final life in the psychometrics. It is a question of whether you want to chance it or apply for a TOC / FOC that accepts standard (national)
