Parlimentary services and limited services

Can anybody tell me a list of parlimentary services and limited services.

Exept from the Ellesmere port-Warrington and Stockport Stalybridge

And what i meen about limited service is not the limited service of a train at a station e.g cross country stopping at congleton

Polesworth has only 1 train Northbound a day, even though it's on the WCML

There is the Kensington Olympia - Wandsworth road servce operated by Southern.there were plans to operate its as a Clapham High St to Ealing Broadway service using a class 171 but it seems to have gone quiet. At the moment it leaves olympia at 10:12 and can take between 8 & 15 minutes to reach wandsworth road. The return working normally leaves sometime around 16:10.

there is another such service this time operated by Chiltern which runs from Paddington. at the moment the service leaves Paddington (plat 14) at 11:36 and runs non stop to Gerrads cross, the southbound service runs as empty stock.

Denton only has one service a week i think.

In the Midlands I can think of a couple one-way weekday services:

0555 Snow Hill to Stratford (runs via the Hatton curve between Lapworth and Claverdon)
1936 Walsall to Wolverhampton (runs direct)

Plenty routes with limited service (e.g. Gainsborough - Brigg - Barnetby), but these are more frequent than a true "Parliamentary" service (e.g. the Ellesmere Port service gets four services each day, not just one a week, so gets the same level of service as WIck/ Kyle of Lochalsh, and nobody would claim the Far North lines were "Parliamentary").

However, what some people don't appreciate are the "Parliamentary" services used to keep certain chords open (as well as route learning etc) like the Retford High Level - Worksop service I mentioned in the "Kirkby - Rochdale" thread. Same with XC avoiding Swinton/ running services through Rotherham Central/ back of Sheffield Arena, and through Darnall/Woodhouse). You wouldn't necessarily appreciate that this was different to normal service, since it doesn't stop anywhere different, but these token journeys do allow people to "bash" rare track. There are a lot of these in the UK, mainly late night/ weekend. However you'd not appreciate them from the standard timetable.

Dunblane has just one direct service to Kings Cross per week.

(I'm not sure if that continues after Eureka).

Other stations to have "parlimented" by a "temporary" replacement bus service are Norton Bridge, Wedgewood and Barlaston. You can't even get to the platform now at Norton Bridge as the access footbridge has been removed!!

Tees-Side Airport has around 3 services using it a week. Used to only be 1.

East Coast as well as NXEC and GNER before it had Cleethorpes via Lincoln on their onboard maps as a possible route - could the East Coast Lincoln service be extended to Cleethorpes in the summer like the EMT York service gets extended to Scarborough in the summer.

Ardwick station does not get lonely as numerous Northern and First TPE wait there for paths to occur....and it has a lovely view of the First TPE depot.

Trains stop by request at times when it is daylight throughout the year, as there is no lighting on the platform (despite the fact that the platform is lit by the adjacent street).

Expect Newhaven Marine to run and run the station buildings and platforms belong to the Newhaven Port Authority and they have under their bylaws no requirement to go through a statutory closure proceedure.
They have no further use for the station as the ferry terminal has been replaced by a more modern one (foot passengers are now advised to alight at Newhaven Town).
There are no other users of the station other than rail enthusiasts and the station is anyway only a few hundred yards from Newhaven Harbour which also suffers from very low usage.
Network Rail own the tracks and they require permission from the ORR to close them.

In theory there is a ECS movement once a week into the platform however when I last passed the rails looked very rusty.

Spondon station is worth a mention:

usage has almost doubled since 2005/6 from ~7000 passengers a year then to ~15000 passengers a year now. Despite this 100% increase in footfall in half a decade it maintains the same number of services it had in the mid-noughties.

Hard to think that 90 years ago it was receiving the same number of passengers in a day as it now gets in a year! Ho-hum

When were the barriers installed at Derby? I wonder if they have anything to do with this increase in recorded passengers.

The Derby barriers went in some time in summer 2009 (not sure exactly when but I moved there in April and the barriers went in shortly thereafter).
