Parking in Hull

Hello all,

looking for advice from anyone who may know the area.

I am travelling up next week to the KC stadium for a Tuesday night cup fixture and was just wondering where is best (And Safe!!!) to leave my car.

i dont like to park too close to staudiums because of the traffic I encounter of fans making there way out the ground, but it has to be a place that is walkable within about a 25 minute radius of the ground.

somebody has suggested the hospital car park for £5, but now knowing the area i have no idea if this is a safe place to park and whether they would allow non patient visitors/staff to access the car park.

any suggestions would be most helpful

Didn't Chris Rea write a song about the road to Hull? Last time i went to Hull i saw Darlo get humped 4-0. It could have been 10!

There is a huge carpark just behind the arena now - i think the local streets have a permit system - although there is a big industrial estate some distance away (Perth Street?) perhaps someone more local can help.

If you want to be totally sure of security, I'd park at either St Stephens shopping centre or the railway station off Park Street. Both of these would easily be within your 25 minute walk time (more like 15-20), are well priced and secure. Just walk to the end of Londesborough Street and cross the bridge to the stadium (passing through the middle of the railway triangle!).

There are closer places which would probably be absolutely fine (I'd leave my car) but I wouldn't like to provide a 100% guarantee!

Or you could tell me what time you are planning to arrive and borrow my visitors permit for guests and park outside my place - I have one for people staying over as I live in the permit zone - stadium is almost literary my back garden

You don't want to park down Perth Street... thats where the drug takers and car thefts happen. Nah, Alistair G.'s best solution is to park it outside my house where I can watch it from my front window! As much parking as he needs and all for free

I already have done so - anybody else coming over for the footie is welcome to take use of the permit... I am sure that something can be worked out in return later

Depending on when you get here, you could spot the units we normally get on a Sunday - or go for a half in a blooming good pub I know of
