I saw that you can park for £6.50 for the working day at Virginia Water, and around £90 for the month.

Can anyone tell me how likely it is to get a space at around say 7-730am?
Also, I can buy the monthly ticket and that's it, I don't need to pay every single day or pay and display?

I'm considering driving 20 minutes to this station from Bracknell, parking and getting the train onto a potential new work place.

Sorry to be a bit thick but can't you get a train from Bracknell anyway? Why would you want to drive part of the way and not either take the train or the car all the way?

Stop being thick ;)

Good question, my original plan was to go Bracknell->Virginia Water and then Virginia Water->Syon Lane. However, obviously there are potential issues with two trains then, e.g. if one is delayed then I miss the connection and have to wait 20-25 minutes for the next train.

Driving all the way there isn't a viable option as traffic around the M3/M25 and areas of West London is too unpredictable I think.

Driving to Virginia Water saves a lot of time... e.g. no 15 minute walk to train station, no need for two trains and it is generally more reliable. Driving there takes 20 minutes. That is in my view a better way of doing it.

Simply walk out of front door, drive 20 minutes and get one 30 minute train
Rather than:
- 15 minute walk to station
- Get a 20 minute train
- Stand on platform at second station waiting for the next tone

Is this a station car park? It seems very cheap for such an affluent area.

Yea that's what I thought. I was amazed by the price.

£6.50 all day
£92 a month (if you have permit)
£200 for 3 months
£650 for 12 months

Unfortunately all permits are only for renewals. There is a waiting list with 6 people on. So I'd be number 7 if I go on it.

There are two station car parks and both are the same price.

I visited the main one (Memorial Gardens) on Tuesday. It was about 5pm and there were about 10 spaces. So it should be easy enough to pay per day

Tuesday was an RMT strike day, though, which IIRC meant no Weybridge services and maybe a reduced service on the Reading line, so may not be typical of a day when everything is running normally.
