I booked two Advance Standard Premium tickets to go from Euston to Stockport this Thursday then back to London from Preston on Friday. The reason for the trip had now gone. For Thursday’s ticket I have paid the £20 fee and rebooked them for two weeks time but I don’t have an obvious date to use the return tickets. So is there a way to park the tickets until I need them or should I just rebook them as far forward as I can and then change again when I know a date and absorb the extra £20 change of ticket fee?

You can’t “park” the tickets, you can only change the date and/or time. So you should rebook as far forward as possible.
Although depending on how much the tickets cost to start with, paying £20 to 'park' the them and then another £20 to change them to a date when you want to travel could exceed the original cost.
If you're going to do this sort of thing you're best off using a retailer that offers free changes on Advance tickets.
Thanks. It’s still cheaper than buying new tickets. I tend to book with Avanit direct as I get free first class tickets as a regular traveller.
