Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right section, but here goes, am looking at going up to Sheffield on Saturday to get the East Chord of the triangle of Park Square on the Sheffield Supertram (Cricket Inn - SHF Station). What my question is, is that I've looked on PSUL and it gives certain tram times for Saturday Only, however, looking at the timetable on Sheffield Supertram website (and using the journey planner between Cricket Inn Road - SHF Station) it doesn't give what is on PSUL or any direct services for the journey entered in the search engine.

Can anyone confirm that these services still run on this chord of the triangle, if so, can you identify what times the services are?

Any help, much appreciated,

Thanks Dan

Use the timetable provided by Stagecoach on their website. PSUL does not always have the most up-to-date times.

The last tram over that section on a Saturday is the 0916 blue route from Cricket Inn Road (denoted with an "A" at the top of the table and arriving Sheffield Station at 0921.) The last purple route tram over that section is the 0600 from Cricket Inn Road, arr Sheffield Station at 0605.

Thanks for this, didn't know about the A at the top of the times. So anything with an A will be using that route, that now makes sense, thanks!! :D

bb21 has obviously provided a comprehensive answer - the only thing I'd add is to watch out when using journey planners as there's a regular (Purple) tram Cricket Inn Road to Sheffield Station via the Cathedral (so may show up on a journey planner looking for a direct service, but wouldn't use the "rare" side of the triangle that you are wanting to "bash").

Do any passenger services use the third side of the triangle northbound (i.e. Sheffield Station-Cricket Inn Road)?

There is no scheduled service using that side at the moment. I only (unexpectedly) managed to bag it due to a last-minute diversion as the purple line tram I was on was 20 minutes late and told to go that way, offloading the passengers to the city centre to the blue route tram immediately behind.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as why the planner (which feeds traveline et cetera) is incorrect for the supertram?

Keep an eye out for Sunday/Bank Holiday engineering works - not so long ago there was some in place which lead to the purple line avoiding town completely all day.

You are right (I think the next Bank Holiday work is between the Cathedral and University though - don't know when the one after that is)
