Paris Metro/RER Tickets

Hi All

I'm looking at getting away to paris in the next couple of weeks.
We'll be flying into CDG airport then needing to get the RER & Metro to Gare d'Austerlitz (RER line B then Metro line 5).

Would this be doable on one ticket? If so, which one? And if not then what would be needed.

When we did centre of Paris to Disneyland we just purchased a ticket to he final destination and that was fine. Just select your destination on the ticket machine and all should be fine.
All the machines we used had multiple language options so it should be easy to get the right ticket.

That journey can be done wholly on RER trains, changing onto the C at St-Michel Notre-Dame, which would probably be quicker.

Either way, RER and Metro have through ticketing.

Website says it's 9.75 single, and last time I was there the ticket queues were bad. May have improved since.

Just take the CDG Val shuttle train (no driver!) to terminal 3 and buy an RER ticket from one of the many machines. They talk English. The ticket includes one metro journey using as many lines as you need so don't throw it away. Then just go down to the platforms. All trains go to Paris.
Oh, and buy two tickets while you're at it to save time later, assuming you're coming back!

A tweet from an RER driver last week stated that free transport on pollution days had just been abolished - the one a couple of weeks ago was the last.

Not true. When I was last in Paris (~1.5 yrs ago), RER stations had barriers even at interchanges with Metro. You need a ticket to enter and exit the RER stations (whereas for the Metro, you only need one to enter).
