Railway or otherwise, share your ghostly encounters.

I've had some experiences that could be called paranormal. The first was with my current girlfriend. It was the first time she had been to my house and she observed a gentleman stood at the top of my stairs while I was having a smoke outside. I asked her what he looked like and she promptly described my grandad. Here's the catch, he died two years before we ever met and she hadn't ever seen any pictures of him by that point. I've since noticed the dog always seems to stare up there as if someone was stood there.

One of the most recent was at work, I was alone in the office one Friday afternoon a few weeks ago and went into one of our other buildings to lock it up. I went into the toilets in that building as nature called, only to hear footsteps coming down the building from the opposite end to which I entered from. The steps stopped outside the entrance to the toilets and the doorway went dark as if someone was standing there. The footsteps then carried on into the large storage area before they stopped. I left the bogs and rushed into the stores thinking someone was snooping around to find noone there. The front door was still shut as I left it when I came in and it is a noisy door, I'd have heard it open. I went round to the other doors and as usual there was barricades across them (we are knocking part of the building down) and there was no possible way anyone could have entered from that end. I rapidly left!

I've never felt comfortable in that building. There is always noises and things moving. The buildings about 100 years old though. So I always put it down to being old and dilapidated. I'm not the only person to have felt like someone is there. Quite a few people have said they have heard footsteps and other unusual noises.

I visited a seaside town on the train a few years ago, I think it was Hastings. On the way back to the station I had ten minutes to spare so I sat on a bench in a small park area. After a couple of minutes I looked to my right and saw an old woman walking toward me dressed in 1950s style clothing. I looked away and as she passed I noticed she was much younger than I had first thought. She was only in her late twenties but dressed in an old fashioned manner. Strange, I thought and looked again after she had gone by. She was nowhere to be seen and there wasn't anywhere she could have gone to!
