Don’t really know where to post this so as it’s a speculative idea, at least where I work, I’m posting here
We still take delivery of paper WONs & PONs at my depot, I’ve not asked but I assume it’s the same company wide.
Every week hundreds of 100+ page documents are delivered, left sat for 3 weeks then destroyed, I have no idea if these are being recycled or just thrown in the normal waste.
Given we all have company email and tablets I actually receive my WONs 4 time a week (sent from a manager and the company, to my work tablet and my personal device) and the same for PONs when they come out.
I was wondering how many other depots/companies are like this (no need to name them) and if you think it’s now time, here in 2025, that everything should be done electronically now.
(Could still have provision if some train crew want paper versions)
