Panning shots, Colas 47's, Sunshine!

Practised panning photos on 125mph HST's at 1/50 and 1/40 sec in preparation for the arrival of Oliver Cromwell - did 70013 at 1/30 sec!

Some very nice photos there and the pans look great, well done.

Some look like they are near Lower Basildon, if so how did you get down to the lineside (I know you are on the right side of the fence)?

Some very nice panning shots you got there. I tend to use between 1/8 - 1/30 shutter speeds when panning. It aint easy but if you keep practiving you will get good results. I;ve yet to add my panning shots to my website. I will get around to doing that when I have time, good work though. Keep practicing because its a good technique to use to gain the 'motion' effect

Some look like they are near Lower Basildon, if so how did you get down to the lineside (I know you are on the right side of the fence)?

Thanks - there are several spots where you can get trackside at Lower Basildon:
1) take the A329 out of Lower Basildon west towards Goring - there is a long layby just past the turning to Upper Basildon, a few hundred yards out of LB. Park there, walk back up towards LB and cross over into the field and continue to trackside (field is currently fallow and knee deep in thistles, ragwort and dandelions - don't where shorts!)
2) Park near the overbridge, walk back to the A329 and turn left (east) - before you get to the Curtain shop (!), there is an entrance to a nature conservancy area - you can get trackside there.
3) Park at the eastern most lane (new houses on it) in LB, walk past entrance to Basildon Park on the A329 and jump over the gate into the field - trackside straight away!
