A friend has noticed that there are lots of regional trains from Palermo to Cefalu this week, but on September 15th there appear to be none, just two morning ICs, neither of which suits his timings (he wants a train around 1430).

Does anyone know if that's just times not being entered yet, or if the regional trains have been withdrawn? If the latter, are there decent bus alternatives?

Thanks all.

The local services timetable for the period after early June is not normally available by FS until about the middle of May. I would expect the local services to be similar to the current timetable with a few additional during the high period summer holidays.

Denis beat me to it. Although there is the full UIC timetable year, TI does usually only publish full details up to June and then beyond. The PDF of the current Calabria/Sicily timetable is here http://www.trenitalia.com/cms-file/...itale/RegionaleCalabria_Sicilia_light2203.pdf

Line 99 (Messina - Palermo) shows a local train every 1-2 hours Palermo-Cefalù depending on time of day. Many are RV so regional expresses which do it in 45 mins.
