Paddington to Liverpool St - advice please

Simple question!
My daughter arrives at Paddington at around 11:00 next Sunday and needs to get to Liverpool St. Should she go to the H&C or the Circle line platforms? Is there any difference in service levels, and how should a casual traveller decide?

H&C. The District/Circle line platforms only have direct services to Liverpool Street via Victoria, which takes much longer. The H&C/Circle line platforms have direct services via Kings Cross, the shorter route (from Paddington). With both H&C and Circle services from there, there's around double the frequency too. From the District/Circle platfoms to go via Kings Cross would mean a change at Edgeware Road.

The other way is a 5 min walk to Lancaster Gate and then the Central Line

By next Sunday do you mean the 23rd or the 30th? If it's the latter then H&C trains are terminating at Moorgate, although Circle line trains from the Hammercircle platforms will be running as normal.

Thanks for the help. I should have checked the map first - I had completely forgotten that the Circle has become a whorl since I frequented London. And, thanks Eagle, I meant the 23rd thank goodness.

Just so you are aware, the journey should take approximately 18 minutes. As such, your daughter should be arriving into Liverpool Street by 11:30, assuming of course she is on-time into Paddington.

Many thanks. My daughter arrived at Paddington on time, and indeed took about 18 minutes to get to Liverpool St........where she had her pocket picked, by someone who "jostled" her as she came out of the Underground (she thinks). She did not notice till she got on the Norwich train, and rang me in a panic. I advised her to find the guard, and he believed her story, which was only backed up by her seat reservations. Thanks, guard, whoever you were.
So a happy ending (She only lost her ticket and a fiver) and a salutary lesson, but an unpleasant experience, even for a sassy 21-year old. Keep things safe!
