I think it's only right on a forum dedicated primarily to railway matters that the passing of Paddington Bear's creator, Michael Bond, at the age of 91 be recorded. I never really knew the stories myself, but my late mother-in-law was a great fan and was always pleased to receive a Paddington-related stocking filler at Christmas.

I did know the stories as a kid and loved them. I seem to remember the original books having a drawing of a Western on the blocks at Paddington just inside the front cover which fascinated me. Great stories for children.

As a child, I was a huge fan. A very sad loss.

Godspeed, Michael Bond.

Very sad news. I have always loved those stories ever since I was very young.

Rest in peace.

Sad to hear of this. I was a very precocious reader as a child and had the entire anthology of stories when I was about four or five. They really were excellent books for children.
