Hello again guys,
I have a cousin who lives in Brazil, he asked me to ask a question about the following piece:

He works at a company where he manufactures this part, his boss asked him to do research on terms used here in Europe for the part and if it is used by trains here. There in Brazil it is called "pad".

Can you help a bit - how big is it and what's it made of? Obviously there are two parts electrically bonded together but being all black it's quite hard to see the shape. A drawing would be very helpful.

I can't say the correct measure, but it's not big, it's made of rubber. The cable that goes in it is due to the friction of the train wheel and the track, it creates a static energy, it is like a ground.
I am putting two technical drawings, one showing it and the other where it is installed. If you can help me I will be very grateful.

It is this piece that I circled in the first image.
