Is it not included with the game? I've not installed anything like this and new downloaded content is working fine!

You need it if you want to install activities by the looks of it.

Like apk for MSTS, just a bit sillier as you have to download more.

haha there really is no pleasing some! Do what they ask and they STILL moan.

Jordy, the Package Manager download is mainly aimed at people who have said they do not want to download ANY content from the official site or recognised 3rd party developers. Most content from these two sources come as self installing files and thus the user doesnt need to worry.

For everyone else creating content, this package manager can be downloaded either by the user installing said content, or by authors in order to make their work self installing just like the professionals.

It also means there is now no need to obtain the RS Developer Tools if all you want to do is install RPK files from other people.

Just making a point that really it should have been included in the release product - and if you do another run of DVDs it would be wise to include it in the installation. :)

One point though Adam, if they come as self installing files, does that imply they don't come with package manager? In which case it would be needed to be downloaded anyway? :|. It could be made a bit clearer in that respect.

Nope, the download is such that it installs the package manager, but if bundled with any RPK's in the same folder, it will automatically install those as well. Its all contained in the instructions.

We may well include the package manager with future released of Rail Simulator your right.
