Oh, I thought some of the 144s had been moved from KWVR for a return to service. Guess not haha. Thanks for the info :)
I've not heard or seen of any moves, apart from one unit being moved somewhere prior to entering preservation (can't recall which unit, where it went or where it'll end up I'm afraid). They were all being taken out at weekends to charge the batteries a few weeks back, but I'm not sure if those moves are still happening.

2 went to the Cambrian Railway in Wales. Maybe it was those battery charging workings that I'd seen or heard of and I put 2 and 2 together and got 144 :D

That’s unfortunate. It seems that I’ll never be able to go on a Pacer.
Due to the huge number of Pacers that have been preserved at heritage lines all over the country, I'm sure you'll be able to get a ride on a Pacer for a many years. There's even some Pacers in my county of Northamptonshire - who would have thought it?

All 144s are out of use currently, stored mostly at KWVR but with a handful elsewhere. Mostly are classed as being in "warm store" but before too long crew knowledge will lapse. A pint at the West Riding at Dewsbury station says we won't see another 144 carry passengers for Northern.
Not sure on the 142s, but some are still in use I believe.
Whereabouts on the railway are they being stored? Are they in Keighley station?

Apparently most of the 144s have left Keighley now. Wonder if they'll be in service supplimenting prm compliant trains until later.

Wonder about the future of them, you would think they will still work considering northern are re introducing a busier timetable soon.

Looks like three of the remaining 5 pacers stored at Heaton are off to Manchester. Pathed for a test run on Monday to Hexham. Then off to Manchester on Wednesday.

The five 142s still at Heaton are 142 018/23/70/94 and 95.

One of the driving cars from 144008 pictured leaving Worksop this morning, any idea where it’s heading?

I'm not sure if its been mentioned on here yet, but the 144 currently at the East Lancs Railway is expected to run at the November DMU weekend. May have to make the trip!

This post had been merged with a previous post I made last Thursday (now deleted)

For clarity, this movement took place Monday 5th October

DMSL 55775 departed Landore a few minutes ago heading for the scrap yard. (142 079).

I passed Doncaster South yard on Tuesday 6th oct (I think Belmont) and saw about 10-12 class 144 stored there. Not sure where they are heading afterwards.

I saw maybe half the fleet of 144s stored at Doncaster Belmont yard on Tuesday when heading to London. The same area where the 91s more or less stored

Note that the DMU weekend has since been cancelled, so unlikely to be running now.

they have said it may run at a later date

Ah right, may be worth keeping an eye on then! Probably wouldn't be till January at the earliest though, with the Santa trains likely to be operating on most services in December.

:frown:

The charity announced the attack today on its Facebook page, writing: "Between Sunday night when we closed and this morning we have suffered vandalism of some of the worse kind.

"Our new Pacer unit that was destined for service in 2021 has now been graffitied in the worse way and will cost fortunes to repaint - in the current climate something we can’t afford.

"If you have any knowledge of whom this was please let us know via a message, this must have taken a long time to do.....!"
