Hi guys , by any chance does anyone please know if we will get the class 158 or 170 on the Scunthorpe , Crowle, Thorne , Doncaster service please .
No links to any information just lots of talk of them going and .
I had a document by the DFT that states they may transfer the TPE service from Cleethorpes to Northern. And terminate it at Doncaster .
That being the case would they just use those TPE as ' all stations', bear in mind that route runs Cleethorpes - Scunthorpe , Crowle , Doncaster , Lincoln .
Really would love to know and cannot find out .
Other Rumour was EMT taking it over .

I fairly sure some are running Bridlington to Sheffield via Hull and Doncaster, there’re also running Selby to Leeds but that’s all I know

Lewis thank you for your relply, respectfully may I ask if you can please be more specific i don;t understand or know what 'they ' are?
which untis do you mean pacersd? class 170 , 185, 170, 195??
all possibles
including 156's which are cascaded hatehully by scotrail, though as they are essentially a mk3 coach ( if theyd kept the non opening windows) then theyd have been like a mini 'plastic pig' and kept the nicer seating.
been on one or two not terrible , way better than a pacer.
but i alost said wow after riding in a pacer, then boarding a class 158 ( pree upgrade), smooth ride , tables nig windows fast smooth and comfy. I can see why they are a hit on the Borders route, though id prefer to see mini Hst's run down there, beforre i get flamed for that i heard a special is planned and i thought id seen one running down there in network rail yellow.
anyway if they had a three car or four Car; mini i HST under Scotrail express branding (this could also be used on lines to OBan and Fortwilliam, Mallaig etc, here a dmu isnt ideal' (apart from i suppose a class 158 as long as it had buffet facilities aircon and wifi would be ok(going to oban and the north). but yes mini HST sets on Borders rail (off topic i know) might alleviate congestion.
Anyway back to the Crowle line, while anything would ne netter than a cattle truck chassis/bus body (though in fairnes i jsut about remember them in Blue Grey at Launch and comapred to the metro cammel 101 was it(theree yellow windos rounded at the front, mk2 style coqaches) often seen running with rakes of normal coaches), anyway those were much less comfy the pacer WAS a step up from them at the time, and the early photos in the rail magazine in brand new dark blue/Grey did make it look the part. even if that part was bine rattling teeth rattling back ache supplying hell on wheels.
the deisgner on which well lets not go there!
but theya re up there with DR Beeching!
