Basically in about 2.5 years of having half price job centre discount loaded onto my Oyster whenever an RPI has checked by card it's come up as fine, but today one told me the code for my Oyster and Discount Card didn't match and to contact TFL or go to a newsagents to change it. Now I've never had this problem before so should I just ignore her advice?

Also for some random reason whenever I get on a 314 it comes up as an Unknown Error on my Oyster history and doesn't charge at the point I touch in on the bus, but charges when I get onto another bus or top it up somewhere. Screenshot below. It's done this before then corrected itself but has come back again.

Hmmmm. I think I'd have asked her more questions first. I'd be inclined to check it at a tube station rather than a newsagent. I would get it checked out though, just in case you encounter the same RPI again. Out of interest, who did the RPI work for?

There's been a problem uploading the detail from that bus. You have been charged on the 314 and your balance has been updated on your card. When the record for the next transaction gets to the central system it will see the updated balance but not know what caused it to update. This will correct itself once the data from the bus gets to the central system. If you take your card to a tube station and view the journey history on the card you will see the correct bus information (as long as it's within the last 8 journeys).

Just a normal TFL RPI
