I have recently renewed my Disabled Persons Railcard. It was added to my Oyster on 3-Mar. The correct fare seems to be charged when travelling off-peak (e.g. £2.15 for Green Park to Custom House at 10.10am). However for on-peak travel the full adult fare is collected (e.g. £3.10 for King's Cross to Green Park at 18.11). Is this right?

Example attached - this is not the only time it has happened.

Many thanks in advance.

I would guess it might have been added as a normal railcard, rather than a disabled one, as those only get the discount in the Off Peak. With a disabled railcard you should get the discount in both the peak and off peak. The easiest way to check for sure is use a POM at a TfL stations and it should display the discount on the card. If it is wrong you will need to ask the staff to change it for you.

Regarding the fares you've already paid it's probably worth contacting TfL to see if they will refund the difference, but I'm not sure what the policy is here.

Having had the wrong option selected in the past I am now very careful when renewing to double check with staff that they have selected Disabled Railcard not National Railcard when adding a discount on the POM. From memory it’s near the bottom of the list of options in the drop down menu.

If they've made an error, then they should be refunding the additional costs

Yes and I would hope they would, I can't say I've ever hear of the situation where a discount that was too small was applied. What I more meant is that if it is just those charges and TfL does push back, it may not be worth the effort to get back around a pound.

But that will have to be dealt with separately. The railcard being correctly added to the Oyster card will have to be dealt with at a station, while refunds will have to be dealt with by contacting TfL's customer services.

I have had this happen too, but it ended up with my Oyster being blocked.
I had a long phone call with TfL to get them to issue a free replacement and refund of the credit.
Then got the discount re-added at the Liverpool Street travel centre as I figured they'd be more likely to get it right than random station staff.
