I assume that with the 5p charge on the 75, he is capped at the Zones 1-2 rate?
If so, there is no charge for the Tram AFAIK. Yes, I know that with Travelcards you need validity in at least one of Zones 3, 4, 5 or 6, but with PAYG, my experience suggests that no zonal validity is taken into consideration for the trams, ie. Tramlink being treated in the same way as buses.

I attach the usage statement for one of my cards from last week, which is loaded with a Senior Railcard. It clearly shows that the system knows we used the tram to Wimbledon, and the online statement shows that we then used LU services within Zone 1. The day was capped at £4.40 (Bus & Tram Cap) only because I loaded the discount on after we used the third bus so in effect we were already overcharged (Zones 1-2 cap being £4.25), but no further charge was made to bring it up to the Zones 1-3 price (£4.95).

That's right. Trams are charged like buses. The third bus/tram journey in a day is discounted and all others are free. The only oddity is that trams aren't included with a zone 1-2 travelcard.
Though for bb21 it seems to have been (with a Z1-2 cap, at least).
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this is one of the inconsistencies introduced by the lower zonal cap for zones 1-2. It sounds very like an issue which existed a few years ago. The Oyster system will not discount the bus/tram charges or cap if a railcard is present, so if you start the day with 3 buses/trams and then use rail in zones 1-2 you will be overcharged compared to someone doing the reverse. Unfortunately my 16-25 guinea pig is currently away in Bath so I can't test it out.

No, I just wasn't sure which you were saying as you didn't mention the cap. In post 7 we were talking about caps.

The difference between caps and day travelcards is often a source of much confusion.
I can confirm that three (actually four) bus journeys on Saturday, with no other travel, cost me £4.25 and not £4.40.

Thanks for this. More edits to do on my site then. It's good that they've fixed it though. It also backs up the assertion that the railcard must be carried even if just using buses.
