A question for someone who knows the intricacies of the Oyster charging system.
I understand that if travel before 9.30am does not exceed the peak cap minus the off-peak cap (ie £7 for z1-6) then the peak total is frozen and off-peak travel starts accumulating from zero to the off-peak cap. A visitor to my site has raised an interesting question which I'm not sure of the answer to. Here are two scenarios:

A visitor to my site has raised an interesting question which I'm not sure of the answer to. Here are two scenarios:
- One journey from z6-z4 before 9.30am, then lots of travel after 9.30am but only within z1-4. Am I right that the off-peak cap for z1-4 would apply?
- A bus journey and a z6-z1 mixed NR+TfL journey before 9.30am, then lots of travel within z1-2. I'm stumped here. The pre 9.30am charge is £7.80 but the z1-2 off-peak cap at £6.60 would not exceed the z1-6 peak cap. Which way would it go - £14.40 total or £15.00?
