My 17 year old son who’s a student will be making several train journeys per week between Wimbledon/Raynes Park and Surbiton. Struggling to work out whether a PAYG Oyster Zip or using his 16-17 year old Railcard to buy tickets will be cheaper.

Any advice appreciated. Many thanks.

The Zip Oyster is cheaper.

From Wimbledon Zip Oyster will cost £2.00 each way at peak times and £1.50 off peak (peak times apply if you touch in between 06:30 and 09:30 and 16:00 and 19:00)
Raynes Park is cheaper - £1.65 peak and £1.35 off peak

A paper Anytime Day Return ticket with 16-17 saver railcard is £4.20 from Wimbledon or £3.55 from Raynes Park.
