Oxford-Worcester Semaphore Signaling

My old workmate Brian Daniels has taken an excellent set of photos between Oxford and Worcester during the recent snow fall. You could almost learn the route from them. There is a really excellent array of semaphore signalling, which really needs recording as who knows how much longer they will be around. The down side, especially for myself, is that this once doubletrack mainline, stations and junctions have now been very much reduced, which makes the line look rather empty and a bit forlorn. However, there is still a nice sense of timelessness about the line.

Always good to see stuff like that being captured, even more useful if they are captioned, makes searching for reference material so much easier.

Quite so, I particularly enjoyed these what with it being my local mainline to London. I hadn't even thought of getting views of the line recorded before the re-doubling begins. Heck, it's strange enough to think that one will be able to thunder along the line without crawling along lengthy single line sections!

Thanks for posting the link, I enjoyed those. All these familiar places look so very different from that viewpoint!

Just speaking from my own experience it is, I'd guess at around 50% of the ones I've seen, maybe slightly less
