Oxford to Stockport

Hi,

I need to buy a walk-up return from oxford to stockport for saturday. The cheapest I have managed to find is:
Oxford -> Banbury return £3.30
Banbury -> Leamington Spa return £4.60
Leamington Spa -> Wolverhampton return £7.20
Wolverhampton -> Stafford return £4.05
Stafford -> Stockport return £9.55

Making a total of £28.70

Can anybody see anything cheaper?

It's 75p cheaper if you split at Coventry instead of Leamington Spa:
BAN - COV £7.15 SDR
COV - WVH £3.90 CDR
(16-25 railcard fares)

You can save further by buying tickets OXF-BAN (£3.30), then BAN-LMS (£4.60), then a West Midlands Day Ranger £11.20 which covers you from Leamington Spa to Stoke, and then change to a Virgin service at Stoke and buy a Virgin Trains only return to Stockport for £5.20. (all prices with railcard)

£24.30 total

or an extra £1.75 if you wanted an any permitted SOT to SPT CDR so you wouldn't have to change at Stoke.
