Oxford to padd HSTS.

Does anyone know which padd-oxford services are HSTS, and which are operated with units or do they chop and dhange due to availability.

Basically nearly all of the peak fasts are HSTs, most of the off-peak ones aren't.

Excepting one on a Sunday which is booked as a Turbo.

There are no guarantees with the rest of the services either. PAD-OXF or PAD-Cotswold Line HSTs are the first to be substituted for Turbos if the HST is needed elsewhere during disruption or because of failures.

Are the Oxford fast Turbos DOO with no guard on board? My 11:50 to Oxford yesterday was thankfully a HST (with very reasonable £5 Weekend First upgrades available on board) but the 13:30 back to Paddington was a Turbo, although it did arrive slightly early at 14:27 and no ticket check on board.

Ben, you are quite correct; Oxford-Padd is DOO on a Turbo; Turbos working as far as Great Malvern will have a guard on board from Reading, or possibly Oxford.

Here's the FGW HST diagrams (courtesy of the good people at 125group). They're out of date. I don't know how many changes there have been on that route since the timetable change, but if there haven't been many it might be fairly accurate.

That return trip is now a turbo, not an HST. Think that's the main change that is relevant to Oxford.
