Late running re-signalling works. Howden/Saltmarshe to Feriby is now controlled from York ROC. Handed back late though.

Have the associated manual boxes now been decommissioned as a result of this?

Yes, only Crabley remains as a manned gate box. As a result, Gilberdyke, Green Oak, Saltmarshe, Oxmardyke, Broomfleet, Cave, Brough, Welton and Melton Lane have shut. Now worked by a single Grade Three, Westcad workstation in York ROC, along with other workstations which are currently Huddersfield, Halifax, Sheffield, Rotherham and North Lincolnshire. 6 in total at York ROC.

It was just a pity Hull Trains staff were absent when we were all waiting at Hull around 06:15. It was lèft to TPE guide us to taxis.

Are they normally ? It’s just that it is a TPE managed station isn’t it ?

I mean if it happened at say Chester, who’s staff would you expect TfW, Virgin, Merseyrail or Northern ?

I once remember an early morning at Prestatyn, there was no rail staff at all but the coach driver (coach provided in lieu of ATW service) asked to look at my ticket, this surprised me.

Yes, the staff are based at Hull as far as I'm aware.

They don’t have station staff at Hull just like Northern and LNER don’t, that’s what TPE station staff are for. The HT train crew I imagine would have been en route to meet their train at Doncaster.
