Overnighter

I need to get to London from Cambridge tonight. I am not yet sure if I'm staying the night or not. If I'm not, then I'd buy a super off-peak day return, if I am - the Overnighter.

If I buy a super off-peak day return, but decide to stay the night, can I pay the excess to the overnighter the following morning?

You can't get a refund as a result of an excess.

The return portion must be used to depart before 11:59 on the following day (in your case Sunday). Some here believe this means that it cannot be used to return on the same day as the outward journey, but there is nothing in the restriction code to say this.

I believe the return portion of the ticket will have its valid from and to dates printed as 14-JUN-15 (if bought today).

I don't see any reason why it could not be excessed to a super off-peak day return, but it would be a zero excess with no refund possible.

I think return travel MUST be on day 2 i.e. after midnight.

Summary: SATURDAY BEFORE 1200 (NOON) SUNDAY BEFORE 1200

So with it saying OUT Day 1 and RETURN Day 2, I wonder if that means you have to wait until midnight onwards to come back. It is annoying though.
