Overnight??

I've heard people mentioning the Scottish sleeper arriving into Euston 30mins early before now.

I've twice had an arrival a whole hour early at Euston from the Edinburgh / Glasgow one. And several 30 minute earlies.

I remember Before the recent timetable change (Not sure if the times are the same) FGW night riviera sleeper was timed into Paddington at 05:45. Each time i used it however it was in at 05:20. Also i have noticed if the sleeper goes direct from Taunton to Reading via the Berk & Hants route it can sit in Reading for up to 45 minutes

Surely not. I thought every man and his dog, along with all the clubbers, want to travel at night?

Most of the people seem to travel York - Leeds and Leeds - Huddersfield, with a few doing York - MIA and York - MAN (and vice versa). Only time I've used it was to get to York after getting the last NXEC service out of Kings Cross to Leeds, and there were only about 10 people waiting to get on.

Seems like FGW have decided to run a overnight service from Bristol to Cardiff Central. Well at least according to the informtion screen at Bristol TM and the online train planner:

Definitely the latter and possibly the former. Admittedly, TL serves Luton and Gatwick airports, but I use them at varying times and on different days of the week (between 0200-0500) and they can be surprisingly busy - and by busy, I'm talking 40-50 people on a 4-car train.

Not up there with peak services, but more than may travel on a 4-car service running during the day (e.g. mid-morning, 1000-1200).

I am a firm believer that running a 24 hour railway will help give reassurance to people that they can rely on the train and not be left stranded - and therefore give more consideration to leaving the car at home. Even if many people may only use a train during the night a handful of times in a year.

Its a late night service from London - Cardiff
