Overnight Wait

Considering - in a brief but regular episode of madness - going to Crystal Palace vs Wigan Athletic in the cup next week.

Living in Liverpool, I won't be getting the last train home! Anybody got any suggestions as to where to head for in Central London whilst I wait for the first train next morning?

Warmth and coffee would be excellent advantages!

All-night Starbucks at St Pancras? Not particualrly warm though. There's a Costa as well but that gets busier, 'cos it's enclosed!

I would be very surprised if you could get one in central London for £12 now, £30 maybe and you need to book 14 or 21 days in advance to get a sale room.

In all seriousness, a travelodge in London will sort you out. I myself would find a 24 hour McDonalds get a large amount of food and then walk up somewhere like Primrose hill and just chill I can walk round London for hours on end.

We have trains that stop there all night Just sleep on one of them!

A crazy sugestion, but what about an airport?
The last train to Birmingham International is at 11:30, or they run to Gatwick all night.
(Assuming you don't pay much for the rail tickets!)

Find a 24-hour gay sauna. £12 or so will get you a private room, TV lounge, bar, showers and hot tub. Just don't wander upstairs...

YHA St Pancras would be over £22 for a bed for the night (assuming over 18 ); St Paul's is £15. (and +£3 if not a member).
You could get your own room at the LSE Holborn for £30.

(Travelodges are silly money! £280 for Covent Garden, next to the LSE Holborn)

Tend to use YHA whenever I have needed to stay in London. This is usually around the works christmas do when I find the whole package of super off-peak rail or coach travel Sheffield to London, overnight stay and onward travel to Farnborough cheaper than trying to get there that morning.

St Paul's YHA - not the one I'd use for a good night's sleep as the cathedral clock tower chimes all through the night. Why can't it be silenced from 10pm while 7am?
