Since the joint venture OLE route mod which started around 2001 to re-new the fast roads of the WCML and partially the slow roads as well does the OLE seem to be failing on a more regular basis?i i remember an instructor telling me arond this time that he thought the UK1 spec equitment being installed was cheap,nasty and poorly manufactured i.e fittings,clamps,reg arms,contact fittings,insulators etc,his view was that they would'nt last half the timespan that the MK 1 equit that the BICC erected in the 50/60s,also the installation teams were hastily put together with minimum training provided(not there fault)mainly consisting of ex-miners with little OLE background.I appreciate that due to forums like this we hear about these problems more frequntly where as before we may not have,and also there are still problems caused by faulty pans,vandalism etc.Just wondering if the lack of investment in quality training and OLE nearly 10 years ago are starting to bear fruit in more de-wirements now and in the future.
