I was out around Leven train station today, and I noticed these things on certain mast droppers.

It looks like a dropper arm zip-tied to the top arm on the left. And also the yellow bar holding the dropper itself in place.

Would anybody be able to explain what these things are and what they do, and where they will go once the time to install them comes?View attachment 190358Screenshot 2025-10-14 192327.png

That is a registration arm and holds the contact wire in the correct place when installed and will be installed to the Cantilever when the Contact wire is installed.
The yellow strap holds the Cantilever structure at 90 degrees to the track and stops the Cantilever from swinging from side to side.
The yellow strap is removed once installation is complete.

There are dropper wires attached to be fair; they're the little wires resting atop the strut (roughly where the strut meets the main beam), and will be used at the registration (in this case).

Thats a reduced encumberance (smaller distance between top and bottom wire) setup the copper ropes are cantilever stay wires which attach to the contenary wire in the along track direction . The wire drops in height as it approaches a bridge till it runs side by side under the bridge hence using contact wire for both contact and catenery as the pan will run along both for a distance.

The yellow strut keeps the arm parallel with the track so that there’s no chance of it (or any of the small parts in the photo) impinging into the loading gauge before the wires are installed at which time its removed and the wires keep the small parts in position.
