Outstations and alterative fuels

With a lot of companies converting to no diesel buses, how will some outstations cope, which won't have the capability of alternative fuels/electric?

Many don’t have diesel facilities either and refuel at main depot. That would be feasible for an electric bus too in the right circumstances. Or with a small allocation a basic charging system could be installed.

Presumably those services don't matter and they'll be withdrawn?

What might happen and is a sign of things to come is the outstations being unsecure sites will close, and vehicles will be allocated to the main site depot with dead mileage out to start the routes being the norm. Larger outstations may be upgraded to depot status with Porter Cabins being brought on site and charging points and effectively becoming sub depots.

How do they cope now? If they have diesel fueling facilities they can adapt and put in hydrogen facilities, and if they have an electricity supply they can put in charging facilities. There’s an infrastructure cost of conversion but that’s the same whether it’s a depot or outstation. I guess the ones which might struggle are where the outstation is just a bit of spare land at the back of a garage or similar but are there many of those left?
