Outboundary ticket from Hatfield into London

Hi all

Just wanted to check an assumption - I have a day travelcard (zones 1-6) but am travelling to and from Hatfield. I therefore have purchased a day return from the boundary of zone 6 to Hatfield using the forum's ticket site.

Am I right in thinking this can be used on any southbound train from Hatfield, ie on Thameslink services as well as Kings Cross ones? Or am I restricted to the latter?

I will most likely get off at Finsbury Park, and transfer to underground there, but might need to be flexible.

Just to elaborate slightly on what Yorkie said, zonal tickets such as Travelcards can be combined with other tickets to perform non-stop splits. This is under condition 14.3 of the National Rail Conditions of Travel.
