Out of date maps

On a LM 321 today I saw a tube map featuring Silverlink to North Woolwich and the original East London Line, which dates it to 2006 at the latest.

Is there anything more out of date on the network?

The SWT suburban route maps are probably of a similar vintage - still showing Eurostar at Waterloo, as well as references to North Woolwich (and Kempton Park/Longcross as limited service stations, which hasn't been the case in a while).

The Greater Manchester area - DaySaver maps are hilariously out of date.

It shows half the Metrolink as not open and does not show Wigan North Western to Manchester as a valid route. I have asked them at least five times to change to this up-to-date map from TfGM. They are proving to be very stubborn on this issue.

Earlier this year one of the smaller West Yorkshire stations (I can't remember which, but it may have been Ravensthorpe) had a very faded Metro map which omitted the Brighouse route, placing it therefore pre-2000. Glasshoughton was also not included, having opened later than Brighouse. It may have been changed now though.

The TPE maps on 185's and at their stations are mostly out of date, not showing Wigan or Manchester Victoria.

While they were in service on Tehran suburban services, the 141s apparently still had West Yorkshire Metro maps on the vestibule glazing. These would have also been out of date, as well as being largely useless to the average Tehrani passenger...

Until recently I think the Virgin Trains maps with Wolverhampton and Milton Keynes Central were incorrect as services had changed.

Until Victoria reopened I know the Metrolink maps incorrectly showed the MediaCityUK spur terminating at Cornbrook.

While not quite as distant as Tehran, this has triggered a memory as a child growing up in early 1980s South Wales.

There were a couple of 1st gen DMUs which must have been on loan that displayed maps of regions far, far away. These lands had strange names WMPTE and GMPTE. These lands contained great settlements such as Gravelly Hill, Five Ways, Stalybridge & Hindley. And I wondered to myself whether I would ever visit these far off places.

In short, yes I did. Nothing to see here.

There are route maps on 357/2s which are a few years out of date (East London Line, Thameslink to Moorgate)

Also Southern 455s having the Redhill - Tonbridge still down as being Southeastern operated, and Southern running into Charing Cross.

I think you're missing the point the poster was making - there are maps out there that show correct validities and the "new" Tram lines, but the one on the National Rail website is out of date and wrong.

They date from 1999 iirc. Some even have ones from 1997 I think.

Yep, also in Middlesbrough and Morpeth. They're about 110 years old, and indicating long-closed lines.

I have a central London A-Z published by the Geographers A-Z Map Company in which the phone number of their London showroom is in the 01-xxx-xxxx format and the tube map on the back cover predates the Jubilee line extension.

I have a central London A-Z published by the Geographers A-Z Map Company in which the phone number of their London showroom is in the 01-xxx-xxxx format and the tube map on the back cover predates the Jubilee line extension.

That'll pre-date the JLE by quite some time. The London phone code changed from 01 (to 071/081) back in May 1990.

I know it's the underground but round about 1973 East Finchley station still had diagrams with the Northern Heights extension covered over. The covering had been rendered translucent by age.

There was one in Glasgow "Blue Train" livery which had SPT maps inside, not quite as outdated as the 303s on the Hadfield line which had SPT maps which included the Kilmalcolm branch which closed in the 1980s.

They are obviously historical now. I'm not sure that historical documents can ever be out of date.

I think that the ones that actually read "British Rail" rather than just the double-arrow logo are the ones being referred to.

They are indeed the ones I was referring to - the maps opposite the platform of Leicester Square (I think) on the Heritage *ahem* Bakerloo Line are one such example.
