Original RETB cab unit info...

Hi all...

I'm trying to find out some info about the original RETB cab units like this:

Namely, does any kind soul know the appropriate dimensions of the said box / unit???

Also, is the "release" key "locked in" once the key is inserted & turned, and does the key turn through 90° or 180°???

Any info would be much appreciated & thanks in advance...

While I wouldn't regard that type as the original form of RETB cab display unit, British Railways Board specification 1851 gives the dimensions as 200 mm wide, 160 mm high and 100 mm deep. The key turns through 90 degrees and is captive in the switch when in the horizontal position.

Hi all...

trying to find out more info about these Cab Display Units...

Does anyone know the purpose of the "Release" key, its function & how its used (other than being turned obviously!!!)...

The other question I have is regarding the "Dim" button... I think it illuminates, and certain it dims the brightness of the display, but when operated does the "Dim" button also dim at the same time???
