The Sutton Loop runs at the back of my house and me and my wife occasionally see the Orient Express pass by which is great fun. I know it operates out of London Victoria.

Does anyone have any information about where it is kept when not in service as we are very interested.:D

The Belmond British Pullman is based at Stewarts Lane. The trains are operated by DB. Steam hauled trips tend to use Merchant Navy 'Clan Line' also based at Stewarts Lane. Clan Line is owned and maintained by the Merchant Navy Loco Preservation Society.

The Belmond Northern Belle incidentally is based at Crewe and tours are operated by DRS.

Stewart's Lane Depot in South London is not open to the public I'm afraid but details of when, where and at what time the steam-hauled trains run can however be found here.

Thanks for that.

Do you know why we keep seeing it out here in Tooting? It is always empty and I don't think we are anywhere near any of it's routes.

It may be empty carriage movements or shunting reasons. I saw it the other day when I was travelling from Waterloo and it must have been going to Victoria for a lunch time service. The steam loco Clan Line was being used.

Clan Line is contracted to operate the OE services if I am not mistaken....?

Reguarly does Victoria - Guildford - Redhill - Victoria circuit before returning back to it's base which an earlier poster mentioned is Stewart's Lane, Battersea. The people who look after the locomotive are always on the lookout for new volunteers for anyone that might be interested? Have a look at the link's I have attached below.
