Ordsall Curve, Salford wires are being engergised at the beginning of October as is the down slow between Roby and Huyton.

Well they'll have to get a move on then because none of them are up yet. ;)
Presumably you mean the new Up Slow Roby-Huyton, after the work to install the 4th track and related junctions is completed in October.

RTT shows an overnight ECS movement over the chord for TPE, but no passenger services.
The Northern Calder Valley service to/from Oxford Road is in (a few of them, not hourly).
There's time for it all to change, though.

It would be a bit odd to have a handful of Northern services per day but not the TPE services that the chord was built for. 10th December should become available to book tickets for in a couple of days time so hopefully they will be added then. If the TPE services don't start 10th December I will go on one of the Northern services. I am surprised that they are terminating at Oxford Road, I would have thought the platform 5 capacity will be full because of the CLC stopping service and if so, they must be terminating in platforms 1-4.

The provisional timetable information, now appearing on RTT as well as liverail, shows the TPE Manchester Airport to Middlesbrough and to York/Newcastle services, and the Leeds to Scarborough services, continuing to use the Guide Bridge route until the May 2018 timetable change. This could still change, but we are getting close to the 12 week deadline. I guess it could be driven by delays in Salford to Euxton electrification and DMU cascades to Northern - the Northern Hub timetable recast is an interdependent package.

The Northern chord services from Leeds are shown as terminating in Oxford Road Platform 5, but I would take this with a pinch of salt - the return workings are not even loaded yet! I think it is more likely Platform 1 will be used.

Some years ago, ATW services were terminating at Oxford Road and they got use of platform 5. Those of us that use the CLC stoppers were condemned to the hike over to platform 1. I expect the same thing will happen again.

I don't think it would be even possible to start the TPE services before the new timetable in May 2018. Too many dependencies on other services (and Northern receiving cascaded DMUs)..

Real train times shows the Calder Valley services using Platform 5 at Oxford Road, arriving at xx.58 and leaving at xx.38. These are within a couple of minutes of the consultation timetable so I doubt they'll change much.

Yes, but still some wrinkles to iron out. The 1138 and 1638 departures from Oxford Road are the only northbound Calder Valley services loaded so far, and the 1155 and 1355 arrivals are also missing.

One of the CLC stoppers has been moved from Platform 5 to Platform 3, but the other still occupies Platform 5 from xx03 to xx15, concurrently with the Calder Valley service. I believe double occupancy of Platform 5 is permitted, but it is only 105m long, so at most could take a 4-car Pacer plus a 2-car 150.

Just looked on National Rail and there are only 2-3 servives per day to Oxford Road but an hourly service in the other direction. Will extra services be keyed in or is there something that I am missing?

Really the Working Timetable should be finalised before the advance booking window opens on journey planners. However, Northern has been late loading data for previous timetable changes.

I see TPE now has one service per day scheduled over the Chord from 11 Dec, namely the 2324 Manchester Airport to York. However, this is a Variation from the Working Timetable.

Edit: Correction - the above TPE service is a diversion via the Calder Valley, and is actually shown reversing at Salford Cresent rather than using the Chord! I expect it might be rerouted over the Chord nearer the time.

I would imagine most will be signed off after just watching a cab ride video its such a short length, especially if you already sign to Liverpool from Vic and the Crescent to Oxford Rd.

I travelled from Victoria yesterday evening and the lines now look complete and jointed in at the Victoria side. Signalling seems to be in place, just the OLE wiring missing?

There’s a length of catenary strung up along the bridge one one track now. It’s not a contact wire, but they’ve started with dressing the overheads.

Northern has now added the 1039 departure from Oxford Road. However, from further investigation on RTT, it appears Northern is planning to operate no more than 5 services per day each way over the Chord until 18 May. There are a couple of 2-hour gaps during which the "missing" train will turn back at Victoria, as now.

Arrivals at/departures from Oxford Road Platform 5 will be 0956/1039, 1055/1138, 1255/1338(?), 1455/1538(?), 1555/1638.

The two northbound services with queries have not yet been loaded.

Journey time between Victoria and Oxford Road, with a stop at Deansgate, will be 6 minutes each way, plus 1 or 2 minutes pathing allowances on some journeys.

NRE is now showing an all day hourly service (13/14 trains) from Leeds to Oxford Road on Sunday 10th December. Advances at £3.50/£4.20 from Sowerby Bridge and stations east are available. This could be a special service as only 6 trains are currently being shown on the subsequent weekdays, although Advance tickets are not yet showing. (Edit and only 3 return journeys, so obviously incomplete, there is an 8.55 arrival at Oxford Road showing in addition to those mentioned by Greybeard33)

Obviously Northern have more spare stock available on a Sunday.
