Wow, deep pockets required!

Indeed - but definitely a one off opportunity! I'm not aware of any chance to drive a main line operator's loco being offered before (and I exclude preserved main line stuff like 55022, before anyone starts). The normal prive of a Driver Experience on the SVR is £350, and judging by how many of them are filly booked for this year already (see http://www.svr.co.uk/Footplate_DieselDrivingExperience.aspx ), they don't have any trouble filliing them. I hope that for GBRf's charity and the SVR, that these two fill as well.

The details from the Severn Valley's facebook, for the Class 66 is that you get 16 miles of Driving the locomotive, 16 miles of being secondman, and 32 miles of breakvan rides. If you're a shed fan then it's not to be missed!

So that's probably around 4 hours of experience. Compares very favourably to a flight simulator experience.
