Opportunity with MTR- advice needed :)

Hello everyone good evening

I'm Amir and I am a train planner. I have been considering applying for the same role at MTR Crossrail. I live quite far so I may have to relocate close which is not a problem. However, I am wondering, how much are the salaries there as a train planner? Also, where exactly are they based? Liverpool Street or at a local station? Would the salary allow me to relocate a bit closer? e.g. maybe zone 4 or 6. I live outside of London at the moment.

I believe train planning are based at St Mary Axe which is a 5 minute walk from Liverpool Street.

You'll receive an Oyster card so if you live on an underground line or bus route (or NR TOC which accepts staff oyster) there will be no cost for commuting.

It is a good company to work for, and I'd imagine it will be an interesting role as the service expands over the next year or two.

Hi everyone thank you for all your helpful responses. Indeed I asked about relocation too but I had no idea they'd give you a free Oyster card! So yes that'd be very helpful.

I make around £27000/year at the moment so I am hoping for a bit more. Someone was telling me that their friend made over £38.000 as train planner at MTR Crossrail, ergo why i got intrigued.

I highly doubt that since the average is 28.000 but there is hope I guess
