I've had piles and it was quite amusing, not as funny as Monty Python but preferable to Terry and June.

its awful and the whole gag seems to be that Miranda is a bit odd looking and acts in a strange and humorless fashion. it is as funny as piles.

Well, I find it to be a hilarious exploration of social awkwardness, annoying friends and family and physical slapstick.

As an example, I found the scene where Miranda and her vertically challenged friend were both trying to impress a male dog walker with a tiny poodle and a huge great dane (respectively) visually funny, along with the slapstick action itself.

You could say I find it "such fun" !

On another matter, it has been pointed out to me that no one actually dissed "Allo Allo" earlier in the thread, which is a jolly good thing IMO.

Mrs Brown's Boys, Miranda, Two Pints of Lager, Gimme, etc are ones I dislike but never watched.

Anything that is a "mockumentary" style or relies solely on either swearing or slapstick isn't that great.

Allo Allo, Only Fools, On the Buses, Keeping up Appearences, don't belong on a list of the worst.

Green Green Grass, is one I'll add to the list though.
My Mum said Open All Hours, which isn't too bad.

I didn't really like On the Buses - being a woman I don't think the jokes were really aimed at me though. Blakey was its saving grace.

Harry & Paul gave the show an affectionate send up.

You'd be amazed to know that I loved On the Buses, even some of the humans So far as I know, the only regular in it still alive is Anna Karen, who played Olive. I knew Michael Robbins, who played her grumbling husband Arthur, very slightly: he lived in the next road to me once. He was a bit like Arthur in real life,too

I'll probably be exiled from Britain forever for saying this, but Only Fools and Horses is hella over-rated too.

And for one last parting shot, The Office, about as funny as watching paint dry !! or lets go for broke, anything starring or writte/co written by Ricky Gervais, oh good its here...........airport and be quick

Oh oh oh! I've just thought of another contender for worst sitcom - Derek.

I loved The Office, Extras and even Life's Too Short, but Derek was far too mawkish for my tastes.

Have to disagree - The Office and Life's Too Short and Derek were ALL terrible.

Anyone remember Can We Get On Now Please? - wouldn't surprise me, eminently forgettable.

On the soap topic, Corrie must have something going for it as it's still going strong. Soaps don't go on and on, if they're bad they get canned eventually. Brookside, Crossroads, El Dorado, Albion Market all spring to mind.

I liked "Oh Dr Beeching".

Although it wasn't as good as it's stable mates "Hi-Di-Hi" and the excellent "You Rang M'lud".

I loved My Family to begin with, but once Nick left it did lose its way a bit. So I can understand why people aren't massive fans of it. Its entirely subjective of course, but Mrs Browns Boys is up there for me as not very good.

Perhaps this thread should have a poll added to it? That would probably confirm the fact that Miranda and Mrs Brown's boys are the most unpopular comedies on this forum, although I don't think they are bad at all.

I watched the first episode of Mrs Brown's Boys and thought it was average. However, when driving to work the next day it replayed in my mind and I was laughing out loud at some of the jokes. That for me is the sign of a good sitcom. (The same thing happened to me with Red Dwarf, took a lot of convincing to get my mates at school to watch but eventually they were all hooked).

The first two series of MBB were excellent - but they should have stopped there. However, Brendan O'Carroll has been working on the project for so long in Ireland and has so many family members employed in the cast that he can't afford to stop now. My fear is that he never will stop and it will limp on lamely like Last of The Summer Wine, rehashing the same tired old gags.

Still Open All Hours - just doesn't work without Ronnie Barker.

The origional four series of 'Open All Hours' from the 1970s and 1980s were some of the best comedy that Ronnie Barker and David Jason appeared in. Meanwhile the mini-series from two years ago barely raised a single laugh.

I compiled my own list before trawling through the thread and then compared.
I was surprised at the general level of agreement.
Miranda was top of my list - not even remotely funny
Mrs Brown's boys second
third was On the Buses - currently being shown on ITV3, a channel that I watch quite a bit, so annoying when it's on rather than old episodes of Morse. Lewis etc.
fourth was the Office, which a few people seem to like but which I found totally unwatchable, although I did try.
