Hi, I've just received an update on my job application saying " invite to assessment 2 pending" what does this actually mean please and what sort of timescale can I expect to hear from them again? Many thanks

If it changed from under consideration to pending then that means you have an interview invite coming up.

Yep! Assessment 2 is the interview, could be days, could be a few weeks. More likely to be a few weeks.

My advice to you, go that bit further in your preparation for the interview. What operative role is it for?

Thanks Jay. It's for signalling maintenance . I'll do some research before I go. What kind of questions will they ask? I work to risk and method statements in my current job every day so I know a bit about H&S. Also, is there overtime usually available? Cheers

Hi mate overtime all depends but being a network rail employee myself, from what ive gathered there’s plenty of overtime with maintenance, well there is with the delivery unit ive worked with. Thats a bonus then working with method statements etc so you have some things in common. Just the usual questions whats covered on here.

Revise your lifesaving rules and learn about the company. Learn basic pts stuff if you want, people might think, whats the point if you haven’t got the job but again it shows your putting the effort in. You have to go above and beyond these says because its a competition and i can put my mortgage on at least over 100 applied for the job.

Also, if i was you i would ask around here about the very basics of S&T, and let them know in your interview you have been revising this also but dont go too much into it, it shows willing. You never know, you could be tied with another candidate and it could be the tie breaker.

there are always career opportunities at NR. Lots of jobs are advertised internally that don’t get advertised externally.
