Operative , signal maintenance

Hi all , I'm after a bit of advice on signal maintenance. There is a current opening in Exeter that seems perfect for me although it would mean relocating down there from London. I'm fine with this as I love the area. The job advertises at roughly 34000 , but I'm assuming this is once training has been completed. My question really is what sort of money to expect whilst training, because with relocating both my wife and I would be leaving our current jobs. We have 2 young children and I would like to know if it's financially possible, before wasting anyone's time. The job really appeals to me so any advice would be greatly appreciated. You should contact the company and just ask them. Most HR departments are happy to help and I know you might not be keen to do this because you don't want to sound like you are only money motivated but if you explain your circumstances, I am sure they will be happy to tell you. As a guess, I would have thought low to mid 20s. Good Luck!

Hi sig01 the position is advertised just as a signal maintenance operative , based in Exeter.

S&T operative jobs are usually referred to as Grade 2. Or at least where I am anyway.

The pay is quite high so I'd imagine they're on one of the 40-hour week contracts down there rather than the old Carrillion T&Cs that I'm on with a 35-hour week.
