Morning All,

I have tried using Railway Codes website (which it brilliant) but I might be confusing myself a bit when looking things up.

I am wtrying to work out what TOCs were operating which services during certain times.

March/April 1998:
Darlington to Bishop Auckland (Regional Rail NE ?)
Leeds to Garforth

August 1998
Stockport to Altrincham

December 1998 Doncast to Scunthorpe

March 1999
Stockport to Northwich

July 1999
Scarborough - York

September 1999
Preston to Accrington

February 2000
Doncaster to selby

April 2000
Leeds to Guiseley

September 2001
Manchester Piccadilly to Chorley

Many thanks in advance

RR NE had been privatised in 1997 becoming Arriva Trains Northern, it was re-branded as Northern Spirit (with those chunky "N" logos) during 1998.

Please see my comments in Bold - I have tried to list by operator - I hope that this makes sense:

Northern Spirit (MTL):

March/April 1998:
Darlington to Bishop Auckland
Leeds to Garforth

December 1998 Doncaster to Scunthorpe (branded as Transpennine Express)

July 1999
Scarborough - York (branded as Transpennine Express)

In February 2000, Arriva purchased MTL and the franchise was renamed as Arriva Trains Northern:

February 2000
Doncaster to selby

April 2000
Leeds to Guiseley

First North Western

August 1998
Stockport to Altrincham

March 1999
Stockport to Northwich

Either First North Western (services to Colne) or Northern Spirit (services towards Leeds)
September 1999
Preston to Accrington

Either First North Western or a limited number of Virgin services served Chorley
September 2001
Manchester Piccadilly to Chorley

Not quite. It was privatised in 1997 and MTL operated the franchise as Northern Spirit (with the aforementioned chunky N logos. Arriva bought MTL in 2000 and the franchise was renamed in February 2000. The livery was turquoise and cream but I think it was only rolled out onto a few 153s (which incidentally hadn't received Northern Spirit repaints and were still in Regional Railways livery)
