Any one any idea what the "Operating Incident" at Liskeard is, as mentioned on the National rail website.

EDIT - Sorry it's not the Looe set! It was a service from Gunnislake that was heading back home to Plymouth. Unit is 150123.

2C51 is the service in question, so any idea when normal service is likely to be resumed, i'm guessing at least late afternoon tommorow, or saturday morning? guessing the sleeper will be caped!

Train services between Plymouth and Penzance are being disrupted due to an operational incident involving an empty train service in the Liskeard area.

Disruption will continue for the rest of today and is likely to continue into tomorrow's service.

Have just phoned FGW as travelling down to PNZ tommorow afternoon, likely to be an hourly service Penzance - Bodmin Parkway, with buses replacing trains Bodmin - Plymouth, they couldnt confirm this though.

Replacement road transport has been ordered.

Any customers travelling on this route, who's journey is not essential is advised not to travel this evening.

To be precise it's 5C51, the ECS shunt over from 2C51!!

Single line working is in place now so some trains are able to pass through!

Not quite normal, single line working is in place between Saltash and Liskeard.

I was on the Penzance - Paddington sleeper last night . We were held at Penzance awaiting train manager and driver coming by taxi from Plymouth as they had been stranded the wrong side of the derailment. Left over an hour behind - not sure when we arrived in Paddington but were certainly there by 6 this morning when I was awakened with a tea and bacon roll.:D:D

does the Penzance - Paddington sleeper still wait for up to an hour at Reading? if so that may explain why you left late but still managed to arrive into paddington close to the time it was booked in.

It sits in many different places for differing amounts of time. Depends what route it takes as well, if it travels direct it will make up time. Left 90 mins late at 2315. Was 105 late through St Germans at 0115 and arrived just 17 late at 0538.

Sorry, silly idiot moment but how can a Gunnislake - Plymouth service derail at Liskeard??

Yeah, probably didn't type that out well. It was a service from Gunnislake which terminates at Liskeard. It then runs empties to Plymouth.
